Beautification of
Ghats
Life and
Culture in Varanasi have developed all along the banks of Ganga and its
most picturesque world famous ghats. Many great Philosophers, thinkers
and saints walked the steps of these ghats, meditated here and drew
inspiration from the holy trinity of Lord Shiva, Divine Ganga and Kashi.
The
Ganga and its ghats make a beautiful crescent from Assi ghat to
Adikeshav Ghat. The ancient temples of various Gods and Goddesses,
engraved palaces and forts of Kings and Queens, monasteries of saints
and sages, dharamshalas, and places inhabited by people of all religion
are the living testimonials of the rich Indian tradition which shows the
city as cosmopolitan, secular and micro globalize India. The picturesque
, pastoral setting of the ghats, the mesmerizing dawn and the
captivating morning termed as “Subahe Benaras”, the sparkling of
sunbeams during twilight, all these accord the movement for
spirituality, meditation, tourism and a synthesis of physical and mental
well-being.
Ganga Seva Nidhi is devoted to preserve and
beautify the Ghats of the Holy City.
