Social & Cultural Activities

Ganga Seva Nidhi is immensely contributing to promote Cultural and Eco Tourism through its various socio-cultural activities. “Ganga Mahotsav” organized by the Department of Tourism and Culture, Government of Uttar Pradesh, starts with the Divine Ganga Aarati and Deepdan at the platform of Ganga Seva Nidhi. 

For reviving and preserving cultural heritage Ganga Seva Nidhi:

·        Distributes medicinal plant (Shyama Tulsi) to foreign and Indian tourists as a token of love and a Souvenir of Varanasi.

·        Organizes programs of classical music.

·        Encourages and promotes young artists by providing a platform at the Ghats.

·        Instituted an award "Bhagirath Alakaran", which is awarded to eminent intellectuals, environmentalists, artists and social workers.

 GSN is providing drinking water (colder water in summers) and First Aid facility at the GSN office. It has also installed Railway and Air Time-Table at Dashashwamedh Gaht to facilitate tourists. In the area of community services, despite limitations of funds and patronage, the Ganga Seva Nidhi: 

·        Distributes food, clothes, blankets, medicines and other essentials to the needy from time to time.

·        Organizes free medical camps and regular health check-up programs.

·        Provides learning materials to the poor children.

·        GSN assists a school in village area for poor children.
